BREAKING: Arsonists raze council headquarters, INEC office, court building in Anambra

Arsonists have struck again, burning the Idemili North LGA head office in Ogidi, Anambra State.

The incident occurred early Monday morning before the city actually woke up to the day’s activities.
It was reported that the arsonists yet to be identified attacked the office and burned part of the administrative building and many operational vehicles.
Also affected were a magistrate’s court, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) building and a branch office of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC)
It was however reported that the swift intervention of the natives who live around the scene of the crime and the police they alerted quite on time saved the premises from being totally razed down.
Today, Monday is a day the IPOB declares that there shall be no movement in the five states of the South East Nigeria.
Even as people said to be the leaders of the group have since October last year distanced the group from the movement restraint order, there has been no let up.
Since nobody has been arrested in connection with this incident, the motive or group that is responsible isn’t known yet.
Even as Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has taken serious steps to bring back peace to the state, the destruction has not abated.
Few days back, he had visited Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the IPOB in detention at Abuja as part of the peace process.
This arson would be the third since Soludo took office on March 17, with Nnewi South and Aguata already burned down in the past.
