BREAKING: Amid Abuja terror alert, Buhari summons Security Chiefs to emergency meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari has called an emergency security meeting with the Nigerian Security Chiefs.

 

The emergency security meeting is scheduled to take place in Abuja on Monday.

 

The presidency stated in a series of tweets that the meeting is intended to strengthen the country’s security network.

 

Buhari would receive briefings from the Security Chiefs during the meeting.

 

“President @MBuhari will meet with security chiefs in the nation’s capital, Abuja, on Monday to further review and strengthen the country’s security network,” the tweets said.

 

“The President, who was originally scheduled to commission the new Technology and Innovation Complex of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), will receive briefings from security chiefs and interject on areas that require more attention.

 

This comes amid a terror alert in the country’s capital, Abuja.

 

Since the United States and the United Kingdom warned of a possible terrorist attack in the nation’s capital, there has been palpable tension in Abuja and its environs.
