The Convener of the New Nigeria Group (NNG) and one of the leading contenders for the Presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, has condemned in very strong terms, the recent attack of the new Abattoir located in Omumauzor community in Ukwa West local council of Abia State.
Reacting to the incidence, Ohuabunwa described the act as “wicked, malicious and the height of ungodliness and an extreme exhibition of mans inhumanity to man.”
He regretted the incessant killings going on across the country on a daily basis, lamenting that Nigeria that was once a peaceful country has been turned into a killing field in the past few years.
The PDP Presidential Aspirant expressed concern that government especially at the federal level has continued to pay lip service to the security of lives and property in the country, stressing that what happened at the Abattoir market was a clear case of failure of intelligence.
Ohuabunwa urged the people of Abia State to refuse to be instigated to violence, pointing out that violence in not one of the hallmarks of the people of the state.
Ohuabunwa however called on the people of Abia State and Nigeria in general not to loose faith and hope in the country as the NNG that he is leading is determined to use the platform of the PDP to change the narrative of the country.
While commiserating with the governmnet and people of Abia State, Ohuabunwa urged the Abia state government to match its words with action by promptly coming to the aid of the victims of the Abattoir market attack.
He assured Nigerians that he is offering himself to lead the change and build a new Nigeria of equality of all citizens irrespective tribe, religion or gender and a country free from the shackles on insecurity, hunger, unemployment and poverty.
