The Islamic scholar, however, equally observed that Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi, had the capacity and credibility to lead the country and fix its teething developmental challenges.
A statement signed by the governor’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Francis Nwaze, said Ibrahim-Imam stated this while speaking with journalists after a brief meeting with Umahi, on Tuesday, in Abuja.
The statement described the governor as a viable option to fix Nigeria’s developmental quagmire, come 2023 and beyond.
The statement further qouted the BoT Chairman as saying, “I think he (Umahi) is credible; he is worthy; he has worked very hard in Ebonyi; and he has produced results. You will need to see the road network. You will also need to see the transformation of Abakaliki, which used to be a small sleepy town.
“On the issue of Presidency, our party is blessed with several credible, worthy contenders. I hope that we will put heads together and at the appropriate time we will present the candidate that the party would present for the elections. But there is no doubt about the fact that Governor David Umahi is very credible and at the end of the day, it is not about oneself. It is more about our country, Nigeria.”
